It is interesting to read a poet writing on what it means for her to write poems. Theory is all very well, but known and practised artistry are surely better! This is, as she says, a personal testament, not 'a doctrine'. But it is written with a certain natural authority, because she does it. If you are yourself a poet, or a creative writer in any way, you might (I hope) find resonance in this piece of writing.
